The Path YOU are on! Please feel free to be fully YOU!

I believe every life has a purpose and to know yours it takes being quiet, listening to your inner voice and thoughts and stop imitating others’ path

I have been preparing to give a keynote address and am so very honored to have been asked to share with this amazing group of healthcare workers. I want to share with them empowering words and stories that will help them identify why they do what they do and keep them enthused in their work, home and community to make this world a better place. All of that sounds fine yet we are all tired, working hard and it is hard to interact with humans with all of our feelings and at times irrational decision making.

Why do we do what we do?

What makes us get out of bed in the morning?

There is an insightful book called Start with your Why by Simon Sinek, I highly recommend it. Read chapter 4 for a wonderful neuroscience explanation of the nonverbal parts of our brain that help things “feel” important without the words to explain why. He is one of the few that is able to explain this well. It gives one pause and helps to give examples of companies with strong “whys” and how clear that makes the company's mission. Have you thought of your why recently? What made you choose your profession? What do you wish for this world? What are your strengths and how does the world need more of them? I believe every life has a purpose and to know yours it takes being quiet, listening to your inner voice and thoughts and stop imitating others’ paths. We cannot judge ourselves or expect anything, we need to proceed with a new day and let our strengths shine. What if we fully appreciated all we had today and had no expectations of tomorrow? What if we felt completely worthy of living in our gifts and our unique quirks! What if life was not about possessions and accomplishments rather courage, connections, strength, dreaming and kindness.

I love connecting folks to resources to help them untap their full potential. I love seeing when folks light up when they feel that they are living in their strengths and have cultivated a supportve team around them, they are truly on their own path. Know your neurobiology, your amazing brain, was meant to live in your strengths, learn and grow. If you are thinking of taking a scary step your brain is made to support you and learn with you. There will be emotions when we learn something new, we don’t feel certain, we feel uneasy. Acknowledge that learning is hard, frustrating and takes extra brain support. We need to take action to build confidence. You got this! I believe in you. Please live in your strengths as the world needs your gifts.

Here are a few more school/learning tips for you and yours:

Envision the goals and see them like a play with all the

color and sound and smells etc. See everything going

well.

Envision the barriers to the successes of your goals, time,

money, effort etc. See them, don’t fix them. (This helps

folks be more than 80% successful, it gets your brain

solving the barriers without you having to)

Manipulate your focus all day with 10 minute

relaxation/happy feelings breaks 3x/ day to increase your

creativity.
