Nourish your Mind, Nourish the World

Why nourishing your amazing brain today can lead to a "ripple" effect and nourish the WORLD!

Nourish our minds, nourish the world

Happy World Brain Day!

Let's consider nourishing our own brain today to start a "ripple" effect across the globe!

Nourish

Give that word a minute to sink in, feel it with that deep part of your brain that is nonverbal. Sit with it for a minute.

Nourish

When was the last time you looked at your weekly schedule and set time to “nourish” yourself so that you can make it through that busy week? Scheduling brain nourishing time is important so that you have the strength, focus and attention to actually achieve all of those things on your “to do” list.

Today is a new day.

This week I seem to have many emails and call from folks asking for my time.  I sure do love to support others, especially in healthcare, yet I cannot be everywhere. I have to step back and be sure to leave time to chill, have fun and connect with those I love.  I had a well-being meeting during lunch this week and missed lunch.  How crazy is that?  I need to keep setting more boundaries for nourishing time.  The Brain cannot run on fumes, it needs support all day long!  We cannot have magical thinking that the brain can work all day without food, water, rest and fun!  The brain is already like a busy parent, it runs our whole body, it is already fully booked.  If we want to have great ideas or feel compassion we have to be sure to nourish that amazing organ, the brain.

Let’s make the word nourish a common word in our time management and productivity vocabulary.

When we say yes to rest and a healthy weekly meal plan, we are nourishing our amazing brain so that we can be our whole self, share our gifts and continue to support others that need our help.

When we say no to activities that demand too much from us and leave no time for nourishing, we are setting boundaries so that we keep our vital time to nourish.

There is no judgment here, just the fact that we need to have nourishing time in our week.

Where will you start?

Will you set purposeful nourishing time in your calendar? If you do not prioritize the time to nourish your amazing brain, who will?

Reach out please and let me know how you will prioritize nourishing time! I would love to share the great ideas that you all have so that we can all nourish our minds and thereby nourish the world.

I will start with 3 nourishing things:

  1. I just planned our families weekly dinners so that we do not leave our nutrition to chance and to our tired selves at the end of the day. PS- I don’t cook it all, I simply have a plan and the ingredients so that my fam can take charge some days!

  2. Headed to a farm for yummy local fresh produce with  super cute and huge cows.

  3. Sunday for me is art day, it gives me time to slow down and change my perspective.

On this World Brain Day, please take time to nourish your amazing brain, it is working hard!
